Being Me: A Collection Of Educational Poems for Kids, Inspiring Conversations About Mental Health
What does it mean to be you?
Like the children in the ‘Being me‘ poems, you may have dreams and goals, you may be weird and wonderful. You might have moments when you feel sad or lonely; times in your life when you want to close your eyes and allow the ground to swallow you whole. This book shows us that those moments are not only what we all have in common, but they are the moments that make you, you.
About the author
Rachael Thomas is a dedicated primary school teacher from Liverpool with a lifelong passion for education. With years of experience in nurturing young minds, Rachael has always found joy in supporting children’s development and helping them reach their full potential. Her commitment to education began at an early age, volunteering in local schools where she discovered her love for teaching.
Rachael recently expanded her impact on young lives by becoming an English author. Her debut children’s poetry book, Being Me, is a heartfelt exploration of emotions designed to help children understand and embrace their feelings. Through its thoughtful verses, Being Me encourages children to recognise that it’s okay to have dreams and fears, to feel weird or wonderful, and to experience moments of sadness or loneliness. The book empowers young readers to appreciate that these experiences are what make them unique.
Rachael’s work as both a teacher and an author reflects her deep belief in the importance of emotional education, and she continues to inspire children to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Her creative and compassionate approach makes her a powerful advocate for children’s well-being, both inside and outside the classroom.
